2012 Jaguar XJ Preview – XJ Series started by the British in September 1968 and grew into the Jaguar flagship model. Name, ‘XJ’, derived from the phrase, “Experimental Jaguar” and never changed. XJ Series has a basic 4.2 liter engine, all-aluminum body and leather upholstery.

the 2012 Jaguar XE will employ the platform of the XK. All the same, it will be a big challenge to strip off the XK’s 4.79 meter length and 1.89 meter width to make something with a length of 4.08 meters and a width of 1.78 meters against the rival Mercedes-Benz SLK.
There are also speculations that Jaguar might produce other versions from a longer wheelbase variant of this narrowed platform, possibly offering range to develop four-seater niche entries to stand up against the competition in the compact premium class.
The 2012 Jaguar XK comes available as a sports coupe and a convertible which are available in entry level and XKR versions. The entry level model is powered by a 4.2 Liter V8 engine that is rated at 300 horsepower. Equipped with rear-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission, the entry level coupe achieves a speed of 60 miles per hour in 5.3 seconds
